What are the different massage types?
Swedish, Relaxation session
Swedish Massage is a general whole body massage using lotion or oils on the skin to facilitate treatment. Swedish is the most common and best-known type of massage in the West. If it’s your first massage or you don’t get massage very often, Swedish massage is the perfect massage for you. It is targeted for relaxation, reducing cortisol ( your stress hormone ) and boosts your immune system.
Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage is a separate category of massage therapy, and more focused techniques are used to treat particular muscular-skeletal disorders and complaints. It should not be confused with “deep pressure” massage, which is one that is performed with sustained strong, occasionally intense pressure throughout an entire full-body session, and that is not performed to address a specific complaint.
Most people are really asking for a swedish massage with firm pressure.

Neuromuscular massage is a form of deep tissue massage that helps to release trigger points and adhesions (knots) in the muscle tissue. Intense knots of tense muscle can also “refer” pain to other parts of the body. Neuromuscular massage consists of specific myofacial work and trigger point therapy to release tension in the connective tissue and to target a specific injury and allieviate pain. Assisted stretching and some discomfort may be felt and soreness may be present the following day. Usually we can only get to 1-2 muscles groups in 30 minutes and 3 in an hour. It is not a full body treatment.

Energy Balancing is also known as Energy Healing, or Energy Work. It is the process of gently removing imbalances & blockages from the energy field (the Aura). Trained practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and activate the natural healing processes of the clients’s body to help restore physical and emotional well-being. It is a joint process in which practitioners work with the client to influence the human energy system, specifically the energy field that surrounds the body, and the energy centers that control the flow from the energy field to the physical body. When the body’s energy is balanced, the whole body works more efficiently.
