Well, hey there friend, so sweet of you to drop by!
Since you’re here, let me tell you a bit about Shine Wellness…
I’m Christine Williams, but my friends call me Chris.
I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Holistic Health Coach and Transformational Lifestyle Coach with a passion for empowering women.
I specialize in helping women who feel stuck in a rut and struggle with feeling overly tired, putting themselves on the back burner, and the weight gain that comes from trying to do it all.
Together, we will work to help you realign your health, mindset and manage your stress, so you can eliminate procrastination, perfectionism, and any other limiting beliefs or thought processes that don’t serve you—so you can create healthy habits that last.
I teach you how to retrain your brain and reprogram the old patterns and habits (the old operating system) that have been keeping you stuck for so long, by changing the way you THINK about yourself and food, so you can eat, move and live in a balanced way that leaves you feeling confident, stress free and empowered.
What makes my work different….
I blend the latest principles in brain science, transformational coaching, nutritional wellness, and self-care tools to help my clients reprogram the patterns that have been keeping them stuck, tired and frustrated, so they can finally feel energized, find their happy weight and experience confidence within themselves, around food, in life!
And here’s why…
As women in today’s busy world, we have demanding expectations from work, home and what we put on ourselves.
We are pushing ourselves past our limits, and feeling run down and stressed out has become the norm.
We unintentionally put ourselves last in the pursuit of building a business, caring deeply for our family, and trying to take care of it all. We get stuck in this never ending cycle of doing more and feeling exhausted.
Eating has become an obsession with the “right diet” and attaining a certain body image to prove our worth. Reaching to food for comfort and stress relief, leads to feelings of guilt, shame and frustration when we fall off track; instead of eating for energy and living in a balanced, natural and automatic way.
These cultural entrainments are disempowering women and rippling into every part of our lives.
This can be a wonderful wake up call, or a direct path to chronic illness and self doubt.
The good news, is YOU get to choose! And it doesn’t require more willpower.
YOU can take back control of your health and feel energized and empowered again.
I’ll help you understand your body’s individual needs with food, but we won’t stop there. Because you can white knuckle it through a diet and eat all the kale salads and drink the alkaline water and take the supplements, but if you don’t take care of your mindset and stress, it won’t stick. You will still be prone to yo-yo dieting, emotional eating and chronic illness.
Let’s create healthy habits that last.
I understand your struggle because I’ve been there, too.
I know how you feel because I’ve been there too. I was a busy mom homeschooling my 3 boys with a 17 year marriage that was falling apart. I was stressed out, and suffering from all kinds of health issues from digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, anxiety and a negative body image no matter how much weight I might lose.
So when that midlife crisis hit me that brought me to my knees with a divorce and going back to school while raising my 3 boys, I was just trying to get through the day and keep all the balls in the air! I unintentionally put my own needs on the back burner while building my new business and talking care of my family. Can you relate to the juggling act?
My weight crept up. I went through menopause, I was feeling depleted and stressed out, eating chips and cheese for dinner and too much wine, and I had that mean girl voice telling me all the ways just didn’t measure up. Outside I looked like I was handling it all, but inside I was suffering.
Just like you, I tried EVERYTHING.
Weight Watchers, low-carb, vegetarian, Whole 30, Paleo, and shakes. I ran 2 half marathons, did Pure Barre, and yoga and many things worked for a while, but eventually I’d fall off track, go back to my old ways and feel frustrated with myself.
Inside, I felt fat and unattractive. I bought into the cultural mindset that to be beautiful means to be thin and thought if I could just lose some weight, and hit that magic number on the scale, then I would really love my body and myself. I became way too obsessed with what was on my plate or how “measured up.”
I’d always been interested in health and nutrition. Even as a teenager I was a nutrition nerd. And especially raising 3 boys, I wanted to give them the best start possible. But there was so much conflicting information. I knew that eating real food could affect my health, energy and my moods, so I decided to go back to school to become a Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I had studied and practiced traditional food principles while raising my family but felt that maybe I was missing something. Surely by going back to school, I would know exactly what I should eat and be able to easily lose the weight and keep it off and feel amazing.
So, I went back to school, and became a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. I taught nutritional wellness programs that helped my clients restart their health and wellness. And they worked, in the beginning. But there was a missing piece. I knew what to eat, and how much, and I could teach my clients what to eat, but after the initial excitement or when the program ended, they would default back to their old habits. Something wasn’t sticking.
To be totally honest, it was embarrassing. I was a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner for goodness sake! And I couldn’t help my clients stay on track and get the results they wanted. What was I missing?
Then I came across a coaching program that was focused not on food but about how habits are created in the brain. It was based in something called “neuro-linguistic programming.” It taught me the Transformational Coaching Method of speaking the language of your brain. And that’s when everything clicked for me.
THIS was the missing piece that could help me and my clients create healthy habits that lasted.
Sure, eating real nutritious food was important, but what was needed was going beyond food and into the brain science of habit change and our internal dialog with ourselves.
Going through that program made it so clear to me that the secret to staying on track with healthy eating and lifestyle habits really had very little to do with the food itself, and everything to do with the old patterns, beliefs and habits that were wired in my brain.
I was inspired to learn everything I could. So I not only completed their basic program but went on to finish their Advanced and Mastery level programs.
I have been able to redefine my relationship with my body, stress and food, and reprogram my brain to break those old stubborn habits leaving me overwhelmed, overly-tired and self critical. I’ve replaced them with new healthier habits that feel balanced, natural and automatic.
I have new sense of freedom.
Today, I help women move forward in freedom so they can live healthy, happy, fully nourished lives.
And I’d love to help you too.
It’s time to create a new possibility.
I’m ready to hold that space for you, sweet friend.

Some interesting facts about me:
Most people don’t know that I got married in Scotland.
Cooking and having fun with my kids in the kitchen makes my heart sing.
I love to work with my hands and get creative. Knitting, making candles, crafting, cooking. (maybe that’s why I love my work as a massage therapist, I get to use my hands)
- My husband and I LOVE to travel together and experience new places and foods, especially craft beers. I think I have a gypsy heart.
- I have a 15 year old cat named Whiskers. (He is the most “chill” cat I know. Maybe that’s why he’s lived so long.)
- My favorite place I have visited is Scotland. I want to go back and see more of that beautiful country I missed the first time. Especially the Islands of Iona and Skye.
My favorite form of self-care is having quiet time in the morning, my weekly massage, a walk in the woods, and a semi-annual trip to the Well of Mercy for some recharging time to reconnect with myself, my higher power and to unplug.
